The Brentwood Ball Club hit record player enrollment for its winter youth basketball season at Civitan Park, with most divisions already full and waitlisted.

The nonprofit said in a Sept. 3 update to parents that it reached a record number of players for the second consecutive year. Most divisions are closed, though some could reopen depending on final team counts.

Nine businesses have committed to sponsor individual teams for the 2026-27 season, according to the club's sponsor page. That page remains marked "under development," meaning more sponsors could still sign on.

Each team sponsorship costs $600 and places the sponsor's logo on player uniforms, according to a club communication sent to parents and coaches. The Brentwood Ball Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds park improvements through registration fees, sponsorships and donations.

Captrust, a financial advisory firm with a Brentwood office, holds the largest commitment with two team sponsorships and a renewed park sign. The firm has sponsored multiple teams over the past two years, the club said.

Other returning sponsors include Fluid Pay, Handel's Homemade Ice Cream, The Morgan Group, Teague Homes and Wizard Creations. Wizard Creations is backed by Brentwood residents Mara and Luke Freeman.

Three businesses are sponsoring for the first time: Fulin's Asian Cuisine in Brentwood, Brittany Gates of Gates Law and Hyperbaric House & Wellness in Brentwood. Gates is sponsoring two teams, a 3rd grade boys squad and a 6th grade boys squad.

The club says demand for spots is intense. Its basketball page notes that 90% of registrations come within the first 12 hours of the sign-up window opening each year.

The club also announced plans to add a summer basketball season in 2027. The winter season has been the program's only basketball offering.

The sponsor page lists coaches for most teams, including Nick Cucci for 4th grade girls, Brandon Lin for 5th grade girls, Justin Sturdivant for 5th grade boys and Jordan Matthews for kindergarten. Captrust's two specific team assignments have not been posted.
