Brentwood High School girls soccer opens the TSSAA postseason with a region semifinal on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

The Lady Bruins face a four-round bracket that runs through the region championship on Thursday, Oct. 22, sub-state on Saturday, Oct. 24, and the state championships Oct. 27-30 in Chattanooga, according to the team's schedule on The Bruin Nation. Every round is single elimination.

Brentwood lost four of its final five regular-season games heading into the postseason. The Lady Bruins fell to Centennial 2-1 on Sept. 15, lost to Ravenwood 1-4 on Sept. 24 and dropped a 6-2 result to Father Ryan on Sept. 29, according to The Bruin Nation's varsity results. The most recent game, an Oct. 7 match at Summit, ended in a 9-0 loss, per MaxPreps.

Bright spots came earlier in the season. Brentwood beat Lipscomb Academy 3-2 on Aug. 27, topped Nolensville 4-1 on Sept. 1 and celebrated Senior Night with a 3-1 win over Shelbyville Central on Sept. 8.

MaxPreps lists the Lady Bruins at 5-8-1 overall and 1-0-1 in district play, with 24 goals scored and 42 allowed through 14 games. That record, however, may not reflect varsity results alone. The Bruin Nation, which separates varsity and junior varsity scores, reports different outcomes for at least four September games. The Bruin Nation lists a 2-1 varsity win at Summit on Sept. 17 and a 1-1 varsity draw with Independence on Sept. 22, while MaxPreps records those as a 6-1 loss and a 5-2 win. The same pattern appears for the Sept. 10 Page game and the Sept. 24 Ravenwood game. In each case, the MaxPreps score matches The Bruin Nation's JV result rather than the varsity line.

Opponents and game times for the region semifinal have not been announced in either source. MaxPreps ranks the Lady Bruins 51st in Tennessee.

Win Monday, and Brentwood plays again Thursday, Oct. 22, for the region title.
