Brentwood's defense held Franklin to 70 total yards in a 23-3 rout that pushed the Bruins to 7-1 overall and a perfect 4-0 in Region 6-6A play.

Quarterback Gavin Strang threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 8 win at Franklin, as first reported by the Williamson Herald. Jones Merrill led the receiving corps with seven catches for 106 yards and a score. Parker Cates added six receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown, plus 42 yards and a score on the ground. Parker Emerson chipped in eight catches for 75 yards.

Franklin's lone points came on a 33-yard Owen Mead field goal after sophomore Chet Miller's 84-yard kick return set the Admirals up at the Brentwood 16-yard line late in the third quarter.

"It wasn't the prettiest game of the year, but they battled all night – just like Franklin battled us," Brentwood coach Clint Finch told the Williamson Herald.

The Bruins have a bye before hosting Independence on Oct. 23 and then welcoming rival Ravenwood on Oct. 30 for the Battle of the Wood to close the regular season. The Bruins' schedule lists 7 p.m. kickoffs for both games at home. Ravenwood, which hosts Shelbyville Central in Week 9, needs to stay unbeaten in league play to set up a potential region-championship showdown in Week 11, the Herald reported.
