Lewisburg resident Michelle Davis Head is running as an Independent for Tennessee's redrawn 9th Congressional District in the Nov. 3, 2026, general election. She is one of four candidates certified for the ballot, according to BallotReady election data.

Head faces Brent Taylor (Republican), Dennis Clark (Independent) and Justin J. Pearson (Democratic), as WSMV reported in its roundup of candidates for the redrawn districts.

Head has said Tennessee's refusal to expand Medicaid leaves her and more than 200,000 residents without health insurance coverage, according to a GoFundMe page she created. She has stated that if the state expanded the program, those residents would qualify for medical assistance.

Head says she holds a bachelor's degree.
