Ravenwood's girls soccer team is headed to the TSSAA state tournament.

The Lady Raptors beat Gallatin 1-0 in Saturday's Class AAA sectional at home in Brentwood, according to the TSSAA's official tournament results. The win improved Ravenwood's record to 14-2 on the season, according to MaxPreps, and sent the team to the state tournament in Chattanooga.

That tournament begins Tuesday, Oct. 27, according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press. State finals will be held at Finley Stadium later in the week.

Gallatin entered the sectional as the Region 6-AAA runner-up after falling to Hendersonville 4-0 in its region final on Oct. 22. The Green Wave had beaten James Lawson 7-0 in the region semifinals.

Saturday's shutout capped a dominant postseason stretch for coach Liz Kappler's squad. Ravenwood opened region play Oct. 20 with a 9-0 rout of Shelbyville Central. Payten Meyer recorded a hat trick in that match, and Tatum Hartshorn scored her 23rd goal of the season, as reported by the Williamson Herald. Allie Gay added a goal and two assists.

Two days later, the Raptors beat rival Franklin 1-0 in the Region 5-AAA final on Oct. 22. That region title came after the two teams met in the District 10-AAA championship, where Ravenwood handed previously unbeaten Franklin its first loss in a penalty-kick shootout, as first reported by the Williamson Herald. Keeper Emma West stopped two Franklin PK attempts in that district final, and junior Isabel Sheffield converted the clincher for a 3-2 finish in the shootout.

"It means everything," West told the Williamson Herald after the district title. "We did it together as a team."

The postseason run marks a turnaround from last season, when Ravenwood fell to Franklin 2-1 in the district championship.

Ravenwood's specific state tournament opponent, game time and venue had not been announced as of Sunday, Oct. 25.
