Brentwood Middle School Principal Dr. Bill Harlin laced up and ran 26 kilometers after the school's Parent Teacher Organization blew past its $75,000 fundraising target.
Harlin had pledged to complete the 26K run in 2026 if the PTO hit the mark, according to Williamson County Schools. The PTO surpassed the goal in the final days before the run after a last-minute fundraising blitz.
He did not run alone. Staff members and students joined Harlin during the effort, the district said.
The 26K distance, roughly 16.2 miles, is longer than a standard half-marathon. The "26K in 2026" framing tied the challenge directly to the calendar year.
Williamson County Schools shared a video of the run on Facebook, where it drew more than 21,000 views and 161 reactions.
Harlin also serves as athletics administrator at Brentwood Middle, according to the school's athletics page.
