Brentwood's Beer Board approved an on-premises beer permit for Big Bad Breakfast at its Monday, Oct. 26 meeting, clearing the Southern breakfast chain to serve beer at its new Franklin Road location.
The permit, filed by BBB Brentwood LLC, covers 330 Franklin Road, Suite 226B, according to the Beer Board agenda. The request first appeared on the board's Oct. 12 agenda and was listed as old business at the Oct. 26 meeting.
Big Bad Breakfast was founded by James Beard Award-winning chef John Currence and specializes in Southern-inspired breakfast and brunch, the Tennessean reported. The menu features house-cured bacon, skillet dishes and biscuits made fresh daily. The restaurant also serves brunch cocktails.
The Brentwood location will be the brand's fifth in Middle Tennessee, joining restaurants in Franklin, Spring Hill, Nashville and Murfreesboro.
No opening date has been announced.
The board also approved six new off-premises beer permit requests from Tri Star Energy LLC. Each was filed as a change in ownership of an existing business, according to the agenda. The six locations are:
- Sudden Service #6606, 116 Franklin Road
- Sudden Service #6613, 150 Franklin Road
- Twice Daily/White Bison #7123, 7112 Moores Lane
- Twice Daily #8090, 1616 Franklin Road
- Twice Daily #7716, 8101 A Moores Lane
- Twice Daily #6650, 1732 North Carothers Parkway
Tri Star Energy operates the Sudden Service and Twice Daily convenience store chains, along with the White Bison coffee shop brand inside Twice Daily stores. Shell announced in September 2026 that it would acquire Tri Star's remaining equity, as C-Store Dive reported. The deal covers 320 fuel and convenience retail sites in Tennessee and surrounding states and was expected to close by the end of 2026. Whether the acquisition has formally closed was not clear from available records.
Big Bad Breakfast has not set a date for its Brentwood opening, and the timeline for the Tri Star ownership changes at the six locations remains pending.
