Williams Road at Nolensville Road will shut down for four days in October while the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) completes construction work at the intersection.

The Town of Nolensville announced on X on Friday, Sept. 25, that Williams Road will close Monday, Oct. 12, through Thursday, Oct. 15, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The road will reopen to traffic outside those hours.

The town said it rescheduled the closure to coincide with Williamson County Schools (WCS) fall break. The WCS student calendar lists Oct. 12–16 as fall break, with the school system fully closed Wednesday, Oct. 14, through Friday, Oct. 16. The closure falls entirely within that break window.

The original closure date was not disclosed.

What drivers should know

Drivers who use the Williams Road and Nolensville Road intersection for their daily commute should plan alternate routes during the closure window. The town has not published a specific detour map.

The intersection project has been in the works for years. Williamson Scene reported in June 2022 that Nolensville entered a contract with TDOT for reconstruction of the York/Williams Road and Nolensville Road intersection, paying a construction deposit of just under $720,000. That project scope included overhauling turn lanes and traffic signals, though the town's current announcement does not detail what work will take place during the Oct. 12–15 window.

In a Sept. 25 post on X, the town asked for patience as TDOT works to complete the project. A special edition of Nolensville News published the same day covered the closure details.
