Ravenwood junior Tatum Hartshorn scored twice in four minutes Saturday, Oct. 10, to break the program's single-season scoring record. Her goals lifted the Raptors past Page 2-0 in the District 10-AAA semifinal.
Hartshorn's scores in the 62nd and 66th minutes gave her 19 on the season, surpassing the previous Ravenwood mark of 17. The two goals also pushed her career total to 39, extending the all-time program record she set Sept. 25 with a hat trick against Brentwood.
"It's been three years in the making," Hartshorn told the Williamson Herald after the game. "I'm just doing my part, and my team is doing their part getting me the ball to score."
The first half at Page High School in Rudderville produced zero shots on goal. Both defenses closed shooting lanes and made timely blocks through 60 scoreless minutes.
Ravenwood junior Callie Karkau nearly broke the deadlock in the 61st minute with a right-footed blast that Page junior goalkeeper Tessa Levy blocked. One minute later, Hartshorn headed the ball into the open right side of the net for a 1-0 lead.
Her second goal was more improvised.
Hartshorn passed the ball to herself and sent a right-footed shot off Levy's hands and into the back of the net for a 2-0 advantage.
The fourth-seeded Raptors locked down defensively from there, recording their fourth shutout of the season. Junior Georgia Plyler credited the back line's preparation.
"We've been working on it all season to get a shutout," Plyler told the Herald. "We've just been really training about shifting and movement in the back line, and the girls just held it down tonight."
Page coach Nate Clapp said the level of competition in District 10-AAA made the semifinal feel like a state-tournament game, with all four top district teams ranked in the state's top 10. Page finished its season 9-4-4.
Hartshorn had tied the single-season record at 17 goals during the Battle of the Woods on Sept. 25, when her hat trick also made her Ravenwood's all-time career leader with 37 goals. Coach Liz Kappler called her "a whole force" after the Sept. 25 win over Brentwood.
Four Raptors earned All-District honors for Williamson County Schools: Hartshorn, Lainey Anderson, Ava Beasley and Bentley Briggs. Anderson was named Midfield District Player, according to the Ravenwood girls soccer account on X.
The semifinal win improved Ravenwood to 10-2 and set up a district championship meeting with unbeaten Franklin on Monday, Oct. 12. That game ended 1-1 after double overtime, according to MaxPreps.
Both teams advance to the region tournament.
