Ravenwood High School football players lined up at Crockett Elementary's front doors Friday, Oct. 2, greeting students with high fives and cheers as they arrived for school.

The Ravenwood players brought along Rowdy the Raptor, the high school's mascot, for the surprise welcome at the Brentwood elementary school. Students walked past a line of cheering athletes on their way into the building, according to a Williamson County Schools InFocus post.

Once classes began, the entire school gathered in the gym for an assembly featuring musical chairs and a rock-paper-scissors competition between elementary students and the Ravenwood players.

"My favorite part of this morning has been seeing all the kids excited to see the high schoolers," fifth grader Caroline said. "I love seeing people happy and smiling a lot."

Both schools are part of Williamson County Schools in Brentwood. No follow-up visit or similar event has been announced.
