Ravenwood High School has both its boys and girls golf teams listed for the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) Class AA State Tournament at Sevierville Golf Club on Thursday, Oct. 8.
The school's athletics page shows both programs scheduled to compete at state. The boys are also listed for a second day of competition on Friday, Oct. 9. The Region 5-AA tournament is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 28, at Franklin Bridge Golf Club, and results were not available as of publication.
The Raptors' path to Sevierville started at the District 10-AA tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Franklin Bridge Golf Club. The girls team posted a 169 to finish third, edging Brentwood by two strokes and advancing to the region tournament. Annabelle Walton led Ravenwood with an 80, finishing fifth overall. Ellena Gerfin shot 89, Avery Wildman carded a 94 and Maclaren Kroeker posted a 133.
The boys had a tougher district road. Ravenwood finished seventh as a team with a 303, but Tommy Cherry fired a 72 and advanced to the region tournament after a one-hole playoff, as the Williamson Herald reported. Luke Thornton (75), John Aston (77), Antonio Tigner (79) and Tradd Midgett (79) rounded out the Ravenwood boys' district scores.
Ravenwood was the Class AA state runner-up in 2020, according to the Williamson Herald. The boys did not qualify as a team for state in 2025, when Brentwood won the Region 5-AA title.
The girls program has recent state experience. Ravenwood's girls finished second at the 2025 Region 5-AA tournament and advanced to last year's state tournament. Walton placed second individually at that regional with a 76.
Both squads showed form early this season. Ravenwood Athletics posted on X that in the Battle of the Woods dual match against Brentwood on Thursday, Sept. 10, the girls won 80-94 and the boys won 157-159.
The boys roster for the state tournament includes Cherry, Thornton, Aston, Tigner, Midgett, Brady Crane, Canon Kiser, Eli Mings, Eli Samuelson, Max Hickey and Payne Peebles. The girls roster was not available as of publication.
Region 5-AA results on Monday, Sept. 28, will determine the final state tournament field.
