Ravenwood's football team blanked Franklin 56-0 on Friday, Sept. 18, in the Raptors' homecoming game at Brentwood.

The shutout extended Ravenwood's region record to 2-0 in Division I, Class 6A play, according to TSSAA standings updated Monday, Sept. 21. The win pushed the Raptors' overall record to 3-2 on the season.

Franklin, visiting from across Williamson County, entered the game 3-1 but had no answer for the Raptors. The loss dropped the Admirals to 2-1 in district play and 3-2 overall, MaxPreps reported. The rankings gap told the story before kickoff: Ravenwood sat 11th in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings while Franklin was 116th.

The 56-point margin capped homecoming evening festivities. The Ravenwood Athletic Department announced on Sept. 14 that the homecoming ceremony would begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Ravenwood Performing Arts Center. A presentation of "RHS Legends" followed at 6:35 p.m. in the stadium before the 7 p.m. kickoff.

A homecoming parade also wound from Crockett Park back to Ravenwood High School under the theme "Now Showing: Raptor Homecoming," according to a Williamson County Schools photo gallery. Spectators lined the route as the Raptors made their way to campus.

The dominant stretch is nothing new for the program. Ravenwood has won 17 of its last 20 games dating back to last season, according to MaxPreps. Head coach Scott Ryan's squad entered Week 6 ranked No. 7 in the state by MaxPreps.

Ravenwood travels to Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville on Friday, Sept. 25, for a 7 p.m. non-league kickoff. The Lions enter that game 0-5.
