Brentwood's homecoming football game opens a nine-day stretch that also sends Bruins golfers to the state tournament and two other teams into district play.

The Bruins (5-1) host Coffee County at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at James C. Parker Stadium. Head coach Clint Finch's squad has won three straight, beating Page 20-14, Shelbyville 43-13 and Henry County 35-0 in September. Brentwood sat at No. 19 in the Massey Ratings state rankings as of Sept. 28, according to On3.

The homecoming parade rolls through campus at 9 a.m. Friday, according to Brentwood Football. The dance team performs at 6:45 p.m. before kickoff.

After homecoming, the varsity football team travels to Franklin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8.

Golf heads to state

Bruins golfers punched their tickets to the TSSAA State Tournament, set for Wednesday, Oct. 7, through Friday, Oct. 9, at Sevierville Golf Club, according to the Brentwood athletics schedule.

Junior George Laskaris shot a 66 at the Region 5-AA tournament Sept. 29 at Franklin Bridge Golf Course, finishing fourth individually. The boys team posted a 287 to finish third as a team, as the Williamson Herald reported.

On the girls side, Emma Schroder shot a 76 at the Region 5-AA tournament to finish sixth individually, and Katelyn Verni carded an 88. Both advanced to state.

The boys program finished as state runners-up in 2025 after winning the previous two state titles.

Soccer and volleyball enter district brackets

The girls soccer team faces rival Ravenwood in the district semifinals Monday, Oct. 5, at Ravenwood. The district championship follows Tuesday, Oct. 6, also at Ravenwood.

Brentwood enters the bracket after a difficult September that included a 2-1 win at Summit on Sept. 17 but losses to Ravenwood on Sept. 24 and Father Ryan (2-6) on Sept. 29. The Bruins also drew 1-1 with Independence on Sept. 22.

The volleyball team hosts Nolensville on Thursday, Oct. 1, with varsity at 6 p.m., then opens the district tournament Monday, Oct. 5. That bracket runs through Thursday, Oct. 8. The Lady Bruins swept Ravenwood 3-0 on Sept. 23, as we reported Sept. 26.
