Brentwood residents approaching 65 can get free help navigating Medicare at the John P. Holt Brentwood Public Library on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
The one-hour program, called "Medicare Made Simple," runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the library's Fall Conference Room at 8109 Concord Road. Craig Long, an insurance advisor who has worked with seniors, families and businesses since 1993, will walk attendees through what Medicare does and does not cover, Medigap supplemental options and prescription drug choices.
Long is a volunteer instructor for the program. The library's event listing stresses that he is not promoting or selling any company or product. Long is affiliated with TN Medicare Assist, a Tennessee-based organization.
The session targets residents approaching Medicare eligibility who want to understand their plan options, according to the library. The listing described choosing the right Medicare plan as one of the most important decisions people face when they turn 65.
Long holds the Chartered Financial Consultant and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor designations, according to his LinkedIn profile. He has been based in the Nashville metropolitan area and has presented educational programs on Medicare and Social Security benefits.
The program is free.
No registration requirement is listed. Anyone needing ADA accommodations should contact the library at least one week before the event.
